Intermediate Group Classes

Attention all CCTA Basic Obedience students! If you have attended any Basic Obedience program with CCTA, now you can add to your dog's obedience repertoire with these useful skills:

Release: How to teach your dog not to bolt out the door, out of the crate, out of the car, after a squirrel, etc.
Yield: Additional walking manners
Take it: how to take toys or treats from you gently

Leave it:
how to get your dog to disregard things that they want to pick up and/or eat (or chase)
Give & Drop it:
how to teach your dog to release whatever it's in their mouth (toy, kleenex, other)

This is also a great opportunity to practice your Basic Obedience skills with your dog, as we will use Basic Obedience as a warm-up.

Cost: $160

Duration: 6 weeks

Video: Ronnie vs. The Broom

This video was sent in by a client, who was having a terrible tim sweeping the floors: "Ronnie used to run from anywhere in the house to attack the broom if he heard me using it. I have been using your suggestions and it is much better! He does not move or wake up when I sweep around him. The walks are much better as well!"

What Our Clients Are Saying:

"Pam, many thanks again for a very useful and instructive six weeks of puppy kindergarten! As we mentioned, Paddy and I have had about 13 dogs between us since our childhood years .... and one would think one would know a thing or two about the training .... but we learned (and re-learned) so much from you .... no question we were the ones being trained! We appreciated your patient/repetitive/knowledgeable approach and the Q and A session each week very much and look forward to next steps with our Barbet "Millie." Thanks again, and our best to you" John and Paddy MacKinnon.

"I had a good time in your class and Chelsea made a huge progress.  We looked forward your class every week.  All the practice was practical and class was well-organized.  I liked that you gave me ideas to add distractions and to challenge my dog and myself in the course of the class otherwise I would feel tired of practicing the same thing over and over...I hope to see you again!"  Mari T.

"Pam , Not sure you will remember me and Jasper, but seeing you on TV last week reminded me I should give you a progress update. Although he will continue to be a work in progress he is much much better, he listens an obeys well, has settled down with greeting most dogs, walks very well (he does 5K almost every day)  So all is good. He still does that jump up thing, and only to me, no one else, and generally when he is excited to see me. Typically when I come home he jumps up, then flops on the ground all four paws in the air, pretty funny to see actually. I’ll pat his belly scratch his neck and then he OK and follows me around. Ant way take care, add this one to your successes.Allan S & Jasper (the maybe German Shepard)

"Just wanted to send a quick email to let you know how much I appreciate all your hard work with Nick. I didn't think the beast could be tamed ;-) Just the way he walks on a leash now

is wonderful. You've done all the hard work; now we just have to keep implementing and stay consistent. It was also really heartwarming to see the little devil happy (well, as happy as he gets ;-) to see your kids, who were great with him.   I'd also like to keep attending class on Tuesday as a regular thing if that's okay. I think Nick really loves it and it's great for him to be around other dogs and be his nosy little self watching all the goings-on around him. Thanks a million." Nina
